SAAC Welcomes MOH Officials to Mark Accreditation of Forensic Poisons Center

Dr. Adel bin Abdulrahman Al-Kaied, Executive Director of the Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC), welcomed Dr. Maram Al-Otaiby, CEO of the Support Health Services Center at the Ministry of Health, and the accompanying delegation, to SAAC’s headquarters in Riyadh.

The visit came on the occasion of a major milestone for the Forensic Poisons Center in Riyadh, which had just obtained accreditation in the field of toxicology and forensic in accordance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025. This made it the first laboratory of the Ministry of Health to obtain accreditation from SAAC.

During the meeting, SAAC and the Ministry of Health (MOH) discussed future collaboration to strengthen the quality infrastructure in the Kingdom. SAAC briefed the delegation on its future plans to expand its accreditation services to more laboratories and healthcare organizations in the Kingdom. SAAC also emphasized the importance of accrediting laboratories to raise the level of quality and enhance confidence in their results

Saudi Accreditation and General Directorate of Laboratories of the Agricultural Agency hold a workshop to familiarize accreditation services

The Saudi Accreditation Centre, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Laboratories of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, held a workshop entitled "Laboratory accreditation services and inspection bodies" at the Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh.

The workshop began with an opening speech, followed by an introduction about Saudi Accreditation Centre and the accreditation services: accreditation of laboratories, accreditation of inspection bodies and explanation of accreditation steps. The workshop concluded with open discussion. A number of laboratories and private companies were attended the workshop.

The cooperation of the Saudi Accreditation Center with the General Administration of Laboratories at the Agency for Agriculture comes as the only national authority authorized to grant accreditation to conformity assessment bodies and out of its keenness to cooperate with the competent authorities to support its important role in raising the level and quality of services and products and their adequacy and increasing consumer confidence in them.

Saudi Accreditation Launches the Service of Accreditation of Management Systems Certification Bodies in the Occupational Health and Safety Management Program

The Saudi Accreditation Center (SAAC) has launched the service of accrediting management systems certification bodies in the Occupational Health and Safety Management Program, in accordance with the international standard ISO 45001.

Where the management of Occupational Health and Safety enables establishments in its various activities to provide a healthy and safe work environment for all employees, by providing an integrated system for the prevention of work injuries and diseases affecting health.
